1. Information We Collect

  • Account information: name, mobile number, email address if provided, profile photo, and basic profile details.
  • Tree planting information: tree name, category, planting photos, planter details, QR record ID, planting status, and related activity.
  • Location data: GPS/location information may be collected when you plant or update a tree so the tree can be shown accurately on the map.
  • Camera and media: camera or gallery access may be used for QR scanning, tree photos, care update photos, and profile photo uploads.
  • Device and technical data: browser/app version, platform, session, security, and diagnostic information may be processed to keep the service reliable and secure.
  • Donation and recycling information: donation form details, pickup request details, and payment status may be processed when you use donation-related features.

2. How We Use Information

  • To create and manage your MyTree account.
  • To verify tree planting records and maintain public tree profiles.
  • To display planted trees, forests, and impact data on maps and dashboards.
  • To support QR generation, QR scanning, tree care updates, certificates, rewards, and profile features.
  • To process donation, recycling, or support requests where applicable.
  • To protect the platform from misuse, fraud, spam, and unauthorized access.
  • To improve the MyTree app, website, features, performance, and user experience.

3. App Permissions

  • Camera: used to scan QR codes and capture tree or care update photos.
  • Photos/media: used when you choose to upload tree, care, QR, or profile images.
  • Location: used to record tree planting location and show trees on the map.
  • Notifications, if enabled in future versions, may be used for planting, care, account, or platform updates.

4. Sharing and Third-Party Services

  • We do not sell your personal information.
  • We may use trusted service providers to operate core features, such as hosting, maps, analytics, authentication, payments, storage, or security.
  • Google Maps may be used for map and location-based features.
  • SSLCommerz or another payment gateway may be used for donations or payments. Payment card or mobile banking details are handled by the payment provider, not stored directly by MyTree.
  • Public tree records may show non-sensitive planting information such as tree photo, location area, QR/tree ID, planting status, and impact data.

5. Public Content

  • Some tree-related information is designed to be public, because MyTree is a transparency-focused tree planting platform.
  • Public profiles may include tree images, approximate location, species/category, planting date, verification status, care history, and environmental impact metrics.
  • We avoid intentionally publishing sensitive personal contact details on public tree pages.

6. Data Retention

  • We keep account and planting records as long as needed to provide the service, maintain transparency, prevent fraud, comply with legal obligations, and preserve environmental impact records.
  • Some verified planting records may need to remain in the system as part of public environmental accountability, even if account-level personal data is updated or removed where permitted.

7. Your Choices and Data Deletion

  • You may request correction, export, or deletion of your personal information by contacting us.
  • To request account or personal data deletion, email support@mytree.space with the mobile number or account identifier used in MyTree.
  • We may need to verify your identity before processing deletion or account-related requests.
  • Some records may be retained where required for legal, security, audit, payment, anti-fraud, or public environmental accountability reasons.

8. Security

  • We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards such as HTTPS, access controls, session security, and platform integrity checks.
  • No internet-based service can be guaranteed to be 100% secure, but we work to protect your information and reduce security risks.

9. Children’s Privacy

  • MyTree is not intended to knowingly collect personal information from children without appropriate guardian or institutional involvement.
